The newly appointed British Ambassador to Israel, Neil Wigan, visited the city of Nazareth on August 20. Spending an entire day touring the city and as a last stop but definitely not least, the ambassador visited Nazareth Industrial Park with the purpose of understanding the local Arab tech scene, where he met with the park’s CEO, Arab startups and local entrepreneurs. Touring labs, offices and having discussions regarding the different barriers and support that these startups and entrepreneurs encounter daily. Among these startups and entrepreneurs, the ambassador met with Reem Younes co-founder of Alpha Omega, Maroun Farah founder of SensoMedical, Boaz Green Amdocs site manager and Ibrahiem Jabareen founder and CEO of NADSoft.

Other highlights from the ambassador’s visit to Nazareth earlier that day include, meeting with key figures in order of becoming more familiar with the local scene, understanding barriers the Arab society face and discussing ways the British Embassy can intervene, and thereby create mutual sustainable value. Among the places and figures the ambassador met with was the Nazareth Cultural &Tourism Association, Arab women leaders, the old market, the church of Annunciation and the White mosque.

Lastly, a special thank you is in place for Lucy Daniel, Nazareth Industrial Park Community Manager for organizing these meetings. As well as for Fadi Swidan, Director of Nazareth Business Incubator Center (NBIC) and co-founder of The Hybrid, for his continuous support of the local Arab tech ecosystem.
